Mbuyamba Joins Volendam
20-year-old, Xavier Mbuyamba, joins FC Volendam on a three-year-deal from Chelsea Football Club.
Two years ago, Mbuyamba left FC Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy, to join London side, Chelsea. What happened from then till now is a series of unfortunate injuries, leading to two separate surgeries for the young Dutchman.
Recently joining the Closeview family, it became apparent that no more time or talent was to be wasted. Volendam showed great interest in the technically exquisite centre-back, and it just so happens that he made his senior debut at the Kras Stadion, for his hometown club, MVV Maastricht, back in the 2018/19 season.
As he returns to the Dutch fields, with a point to prove, we’re right behind Xavi. Eager and excited to watch him further his learning and development, as he showcases his footballing ability this season in the Eredivisie.
