Adarabioyo’s First Senior Goal

Continuing on from some confident performances, Tosin Adarabioyo picked up another 90 minutes for Blackburn Rovers, this weekend, as the Manchester City loanee scored his first senior goal. Blackburn were 1-0 down, at home to Sheffield Wednesday, with just 2 minutes of normal time to play. The ball was whipped in and Tosin rose, with great conviction, directing the ball across goal and over the opposing keepers head, to equalise before teammate John Buckley scored and won the game 3 minutes later.

Tosin put in an outstanding performance, winning 9 aerial duels, making the most completed passes, a 100% tackle success rate and 4 clearances. He was given the Man of the Match Award on Saturday after the game and fittingly enough, Tosin landed himself in the EFL TOTW today. A strong week for Tosin Adarabioyo and we look forward to seeing more!

There were lots of good performances today, I was pleased for lots of them today. Tosin scored a goal and he was magnificent. We’ve struggled against teams who play direct football against us and today I told him he had to stand up and be counted and be the man who heads the ball. It’s underestimated how important heading the ball back over the halfway line from goal-kicks is and that’s what he did for us today and scored as well. So I’m delighted with him.
