Mipo Joins Huddersfield

After a dominant display in the PL2 last season, scoring 14 goals in just 12 appearances, Mipo Odubeko has joined Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan.

Prior to his new challenge, Mipo has signed a contract extension with West Ham United, until the summer of 2023. Having been integrated into the first team during the 2020/21 season, Mipo’s desire to step up to senior football shows the aspirations he has for his career. This loan spell to the Yorkshire side will be a great test for the young striker and an opportunity for him to continue his goal-scoring rhythm, this time at The John Smith’s Stadium.

Take a look behind the scenes on signing day!

We’re delighted to welcome Mipo to Huddersfield Town today. He’s one of the most promising young strikers in England at the moment, and we’re delighted that West Ham have entrusted us with this phase of his development. Mipo adds some different qualities to our forward options and, when we spoke, it was clear he has a huge desire to show what he’s capable of in senior football.
— Leigh Bromby, Head of Football Operations

Mipo is a young striker with potential, who offers us something different in the attacking areas. He can play as a single striker or as a front pairing, and his finishing is a real strength; he has a very good shot from both his left and right sides. I am looking forward to working with him over the coming weeks and months.
— Carlos Corberán, Head Coach
